Według danych z ostatniego spisu ludności przeprowadzonego w Hong Kongu w 2011 liczba mieszkańców HK SAR wynosi 7 milionów, z czego 53.4% to mężczyźni, a 46.6% - kobiety.
Hongkies? Nice people. I'm one of them.
We love cheap goods with high qualities. We are fast paced, I mean, real fast. It's very easy to enter the metro system in urban area. I love well-prepared people who has prepared everything to welcome me. That's why this city suits me.
There are nice people and rude people everywhere in the world. And there are grey area between white and black. Most of us belong to the grey area.
Most of us have to work like dogs but Hong Kong is one of the most entertaining city. The salespeople are generally nice (because of money of course!) and we have many good restaurants to dine in.

Shootings are rarely heard in this city so it's not convincing for me to believe HK is a rude city. The worst Hongkies I've seen those who live in Canada and I can't get along with them. I have only 1 Chinese friend in Canada.
The customs in HK are rather rude and mean. But you have to understand although HK is a safe city for normal people, it's actually a notorious entrepot of drugs and fired arms.
Well I can tell many of you here are very American. We have different mindsets and I don't think you truly know about the city.
We don't greet strangers on street mainly because we don't want to bother anyone. In fact, we feel it awkward when a stranger greets us that we may wonder if he's trying to make any troubles. This is a dense city and people flood everywhere. How can we feel free to greet everyone? Well, I'm living in Toronto and I can find a bunch of awkward drunkards and sick people begging you for cigarettes, which I've never seen this before.
This is a Chinese city. Many of us don't speak fluent English and tourists may feel a bit helpless. But the signs and information of transport are very informative.
Many rude people in HK are tourists from mainland China. I have no intention to include all of the mainlanders I know but this is dead true. Many of them are creepy people who love speaking against HK for fun. Rumours and libels against HK are spread across the web thanks to these haters.

Maybe I don't really know about my city after calling it my home for 18 years.

I jeszcze kilka portretów:
"Hongkogijczycy? Mili ludzie. Jesteśmy jednymi z nich." |
"Żyjemy na wysokich obrotach, naprawdę wysokich." |
"Większość z nas musi harować jak woły, ale Hong Kong jest jednym z najciekawszych miast. Sprzedawcy są ogólnie mili (oczywiście z powodu pieniędzy!), no i mamy wiele dobrych restauracji." |
"Mili i nieprzyjemni ludzie są na całym świecie. Pomiędzy białym a czarnym istnieje jeszcze szarość. Większość z nas należy do tego obszaru szarości" (Autor zdjęcia: Artur Osicki) |
